REMONDIS invests in climate protection and raw material supply.

München. According to a recent study published by the Hamburg Institute, Ökopol, around 400 million tonnes of CO2 could be saved each year if the Europe-wide recycling rate were to be increased to the level already found in Germany today, i.e. to 65%. This is the equivalent of the emissions from 51 million cars. Being the largest water and environmental service company in Germany, REMONDIS makes a considerable contribution with its facilities and services towards the achievement of the European Union's ambitious climate targets. The massive investments carried out over the last few years in state-of-the-art technology and know-how demonstrate the high priority that REMONDIS puts on the subject of the environment and resource conservation. More than 20 billion euros have been invested in the development and construction of new sorting, composting, emission filter, waste incineration and biomass-fired facilities since 1993 - developments which have primarily been achieved by private sector water and environmental service companies.
