München. According to a recent study published by the Hamburg Institute, Ökopol, around 400 million tonnes of CO2 could be saved each year if the Europe-wide recycling rate were to be increased to the level already found in Germany today, i.e. to 65%. This is the equivalent of the emissions from 51 million cars. Being the largest water and environmental service company in Germany, REMONDIS makes a considerable contribution with its facilities and services towards the achievement of the European Union's ambitious climate targets. The massive investments carried out over the last few years in state-of-the-art technology and know-how demonstrate the high priority that REMONDIS puts on the subject of the environment and resource conservation. More than 20 billion euros have been invested in the development and construction of new sorting, composting, emission filter, waste incineration and biomass-fired facilities since 1993 - developments which have primarily been achieved by private sector water and environmental service companies.
With natural resources becoming ever more scarce, the private sector water and environmental service branch finds itself playing an essential role in global raw material supply and climate protection. Our motto at the IFAT this year is "a place to meet" and REMONDIS is inviting everyone to visit their stand in Hall B1, Stand 231/332 to learn more about and discuss all the important matters concerning the international water and environmental service branch. At REMONDIS, priority is always given to finding innovative concepts and new, forward-looking ideas.
REMONDIS is one of the world's largest privately run water and environmental service companies providing services for more than 20 million people. REMONDIS has branches and affiliate companies in 21 European countries as well as in China, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.
