The legal basis of the leak detection work is the DIN 1986-30 'Entwässerungsanlagen für Gebäude und Grundstücke - Instandhaltung' [Drainage systems on private ground - maintenance] in connection with paragraph 18b of the 'Wasserhaushaltsgesetz' [Water Resources Law]. The aim of the regulation is, in particular, to protect the soil and groundwater.
