The price of drinking water varies enormously from one country to another. At an average of EUR 1.83 per cubic metre, the water provided in Germany is among the most expensive in the world. The price is pushed up mainly by the large number of companies, almost 15,000 in all, which operate in the water sector. Public private partnerships, which are already firmly established in other countries, have shown time and again that they can keep prices stable and safeguard product quality at the same time. |
