KoSIS – Maintaining value to increase value.
Strategies for sustainable sewage network renovation work.

Our cost-optimised renovation and inspection strategies are based on selective inspections and assessments supported by forecasts. This puts us in a position to run all kinds of renovation and investment scenarios through the system.
The often poor condition of existing wastewater systems and the associated investment bottleneck have resulted in the renovation work that must be carried out on the sewers becoming an inter-generational task. Available resources are scarce and must be used both efficiently and with foresight if the financial burden on the population is to be kept manageable.
In tackling this complex task, REMONDIS Aqua uses state-of-the-art software with which we develop cost-optimised renovation and inspection strategies (KoSIS®). Our system is based on mathematical statistical models which make it possible to predict the ageing processes within a sewer system. This results in cost-optimised strategies for sewer inspection and renovation work while taking account of the financial resources available and the planned development of charges.
The most important benefits at a glance
- With the help of selective inspection, the overall condition can be recorded while achieving both time and cost savings.
- Condition reports are available more quickly and are more up-to-date.
- Ageing models help to assess how the condition is likely to develop in future, thereby making it possible to find the optimum renovation strategy.
- All kinds of criteria can be taken into account – for example the development of investment and charges, various repair and redevelopment procedures and much more.
- In the area of inspection in particular, savings of more than 50 % are possible.
