When carrying out cooperation projects, we often provide our partners with support that extends beyond the operation of their water supply or wastewater treatment plants. Indeed, we are happy to support them well beyond this – right up to the full assumption of all responsibilities as part of a comprehensive operator solution. Optimisation studies
We prepare optimisation studies for all tasks that have no standard solution. In doing so, we often take pioneering steps and work out trend-setting concepts for ecological and commercially optimised water management.
Process development
Over the last few years, REMONDIS Aqua has developed numerous processes of its own for wastewater treatment and the recovery of recyclables. Bioreth®, REPHOS®, REBALANCE and RECOMPLEX are examples of this series of innovations. REPHOS®, a procedure for recovering phosphates that have dissolved in wastewater, had a patent application submitted in 2007 after a successful practical introduction. This form of phosphate recovery is unique in Germany and an example of the consistent recovery of recyclables as part of an efficient recycling system. The phosphates recovered in the treatment process are converted into granules so that they can be used as a slow-release fertiliser.
Energy generation
We often succeed in coupling our customers’ wastewater treatment processes with energy generation by using the biogases released as part of the treatment process. We are happy to take over the operation of the combined heat and power station required for this purpose for our customers and give a clear guarantee concerning electricity income.
Controlling function
As part of cooperation arrangements, it is not uncommon for us to perform the function of water pollution control officers. After all, many of our customers would find it very expensive to provide the personnel for such a task, as the knowledge and skills required, for example in respect of valid legal provisions, must be updated all the time.
