Ensuring the good things in wastewater are returned to the materials cycle.

We close material cycles by recovering the scarce resource phosphorus from wastewater and using it as fertiliser.

In industrial companies in particular, wastewater often contains valuable substances. These do not have to be lost during the treatment process. Many substances, from precious metals to phosphorus, can be recovered in their purest form. We build plants which extract everything that can be used again in production or sold on the market.

 
In the REPHOS® process developed by REMONDIS, for example, phosphates are recovered as a side-effect of reliable wastewater treatment; they can be used directly as fertiliser or as a basic raw material for the fertiliser industry. It is the finite nature of the earth's phosphate deposits, more than anything else, which brings home the importance of this process as a contribution to the sustainable conservation of resources. We recover recyclable materials and ease the burden on the environment.

 

 

 

With the Casul® procedure, we recover ultra-pure mineral white pigments from the residue from wastewater treatment which can be used, among other things, as a basic material for the paints industry.
