There's plenty of energy in wastewater. We extract it.

DMK Deutsches Milchkontor uses organically polluted wastewater for generating biogas.

If the wastewater produced by companies is especially rich in organic substances, it is suitable for generating biogas. For this purpose, micro-organisms are added to the water in an anaerobic reactor; these break down the harmful substances and simultaneously produce biogas. This gas is either used directly as fuel or converted to power and heat in a combined heat and power station. The result is valuable energy that can either be used directly in production or fed into the public grid in return for guaranteed payment. We plan, construct and operate all the facilities that are required for biogas generation and integrate them optimally into your company.

What benefits does biogas generation offer?

  • Use of anaerobic reactors removes the need for cost-intensive ventilation
  • Minimisation of the sludge volume for disposal
  • Resources are conserved thanks to use of renewable raw materials
  • Direct use of the biogas or conversion into electricity in combined heat and power stations
  • Guaranteed high payment for feeding power into the public grid

Biogas plants convert natural waste products into biogas, which can then be used in combined heat and power stations to produce power and heat. This reduces costs and eases the burden on the environment.
