Oberhausen – complexity and efficiency in compact form.

The project

Wirtschaftsbetriebe Oberhausen GmbH (WBO) is a company specialising in water and environmental services. With a workforce of around 150, WBO is responsible for, among other things, operating and cleaning the sewer network owned by the City of Oberhausen which is around 530 km in length. The company is also responsible for waste disposal, street cleaning and traffic safety duties in the city.

 

 

 

The cooperation

REMONDIS acquired 24.5 % of Wirtschaftsbetriebe Oberhausen GmbH as part of a PPP model in 1996. Another 24.5 % stake was added in 2005. The majority shareholder in the joint venture is Stadtwerke Oberhausen AG (StoAG), which holds a 51 % stake.
