The project
Repair and maintenance work are just as much part of the everyday duties of Wasserverband Lausitz Betriebsführungs GmbH (WAL-Betrieb) as ensuring that unusual operating conditions are dealt with properly. As part of its service, this fully-owned subsidiary of REMONDIS Aqua must present transparent reports to Wasserverband Lausitz, which holds ultimate responsibility, concerning all the processes and costs as well as any optimization measures. This would hardly be possible without modularly structured, modifiable and easy-to-operate software.
 

 

 

Technical solution
To carry out its tasks, WAL-Betrieb uses TIM – a self-developed software system for technical maintenance management work. TIM is used to record technical operating data from the control system, to transmit location information from the Geographical Information System and to link commercial systems. All fully automatically. In addition, staff record all repair and maintenance information using hand-held devices and transmit them facility-specific to the database. This is done without contact via radio frequency identification (RFID) or barcode technology. In addition, the system knows where all vehicles are located all the time in order to ensure that the various teams take the most efficient route to their next work site – with no detours or unnecessary empty runs.
 

 

 

The most important benefits
The electronic recording of all processes makes it possible to thoroughly document repair and maintenance work. The customer can call up the current status of his system at the press of a button. Deployment times and operating costs are reduced by means of careful task and route optimisation.
