Genthin – made-to-measure sewage treatment.

The project
The sewage treatment plant in Genthin, situated between Berlin and Magdeburg, treats more than 1.2 million cubic metres of wastewater per year. The water in question is more than just normal household wastewater: a large amount of the wastewater treated here is contaminated wastewater from industrial businesses.
 

 

 

The cooperation
As early as 1992 the municipality of Genthin entrusted REMONDIS with its sewage treatment activities. The sewage treatment plant we look after also includes a biogas facility and a facility for cleaning the inside of tanks.
 

 

 

The most important benefits
By taking over the city’s sewage treatment activities, REMONDIS Aqua has relieved the municipality of having to carry out complex tasks. In addition, Genthin has been spared major investments.
